Mid-Atlantic Fruit and Vegetable Convention: A Recap

Tunnel Vision Hoops' Todd Alexander recently had the opportunity to attend the Mid-Atlantic Fruit and Vegetable Convention (MAFVC) in Hershey, PA. The main purpose of the trip was to present on New Ideas for High Tunnels. There is a never ending supply of new ideas for High Tunnels; literally an endless list of things that can be done with, inside of, and as a compliment to these growing structures. That said, Todd was invited to the MAFVC to discuss the New Ideas as they relate to the innovations that Tunnel Vision Hoops has devloped over the last two years. The presentation focused on the TVH Mobile Ready Base Frame, Rainwater Catchment System, Base-Wedge Anchoring, Hoop Mounting, and Construction Methodology. Todd completed a few pages of text for the MAFVC Proceedings that we are sharing with you in this post. Click below to take a look. For those that aren't familiar, Proceedings give a "short-hand" version of what was discussed at any given presentation.

Although Todd was presenting at the Convention, he was also fortunate enough to have the ability to listen to a number of other presenters. He had the opportunity to listen to David King of Harvest Valley Farms present on High Tunnel Beets and Carrots, as well as Penn State Extension's Tianna DuPont present on CSA Marketing.

Todd recommended this conference to small and mid-size farmers interested in broadening their knowledge in a practical way on how to practice profitable sustainable agriculture.
