This unit is a replacement gear for our 7:1 gear crank (aka gear box).
Over time, gear cranks take a lot of abuse in the elements. If your gear crank is not operating smoothly, feels like it is seizing-up, or is taking significantly more effort to operate than in the past, it may be time to swap out the gear crank with a new, replacement gear.
If you had a 7:1 gear crank, but want to upgrade to a 13:1, our 13:1 replacement gears can configure with the plates on our 7:1 units - in other words, you could upgrade to the 13:1 gear crank by purchasing the 13:1 replacement gear, and attaching it to your existing plates.
These replacement gears configure with the existing plates on your gear crank, and can be connected with the hardware included with this product.
